The day is finally here and it’s time to unveil our Carolina room Remodel. This project came with challenges ranging from learning to many types of painting, the challenge of building the most furniture I’ve ever built for a piece.
This room was a big sweet brown box with lots of bachelorette furniture and everything you “hide”from your guests. It was not a functional space and we did not use it for more than a year! Talk about a waste of space.
We wanted to transform our sad living room, also known as” Sunroom”, into a bright and functional room for Liv (our 15 MB daughter) and receive friends. This space is especially important for us as our family continues to grow. We needed a space where we could all grow! We want to refresh the room to create a modern boho style with white colors from floor to ceiling, integrated window sills and toy compartments, a handmade coffee table, a multimedia cabinet and a toddler table and bring a lot of life into the room with potted and hanging plants.
It was one of the biggest DIY projects I’ve ever tried. I have never built so many pieces of furniture for a project, which is so exciting!
This whole room turned out to be exactly as I had imagined. This room was designed to be a place where my daughter can play and spend time for us while entertaining friends. Liv toys took control of our living room, so we decided to give him and us a space in which we could develop for years.
I have these storage baskets for your toys for easy access and a piece of plywood for a fun old school green.
This Pompom rug had the perfect color and soft touch for the Liv side of the Carolina room.
I have added these LED Fan Home Decorators with remote Controls for energy efficiency. The elegant modern style fit well with the design.
Tripod lamps have long been one of my favorites and homedepot.com has an amazing decor for incredibly good prices!
We have improved the door panels to match matt black with beat.
One of my favorite coffee tables I’ve built so far! This modern table was the perfect blend of natural wood and color.
Our Carolina room has received the perfect transformation for the entertainment of our guests and our growing family. I learned so much about myself as a carpenter when I made all this furniture.
I hope this inspires you to occupy a space where you are not or have no functionality, and to make something incredible out of it.
